Prince Frederick, MD—November 18, 2009—Recorded Books, LLC, the world’s largest independent producer of audiobooks and a Haights Cross Communications company, has announced a new imprint, ITK Audio (In the Know Audio). ITK Audio features nonfiction titles by award-winning, best-selling authors. The imprint is available immediately through Recorded Books’ Continuous Order Plans.
“Each year, the number of nonfiction books greatly exceeds the number of fiction books that are published. For our exciting new ITK Audio imprint, Recorded Books editors sort through thousands of submissions and select three releases each quarter from the most enduring and meaningful genres – history, biography, and memoir,” said Donna Vollmer, Library Marketing Manager. “We believe that libraries will find that ITK Audio releases will be immediately popular with their patrons.”
ITK Audio will feature nonfiction titles that people who are “in the know” are talking about and reading. Each quarter, Recorded Books will release three new titles under ITK Audio imprint. The imprint will generally avoid political, more sensational bestsellers, which tend not to endure as definitive works. Instead, selections will be made from the works of authors who are respected for the quality and originality of their work and that will likely be considered as relevant over five or more years from now.
Titles that are scheduled to be released include When Everything Changed: The Amazing Journey of American Women from 1960 to the Present, by Gail Collins; and The Clinton Tapes: Wrestling History with the President, by Taylor Branch.
