RECORDED BOOKS’ UNABRIDGED AUDIOBOOK OF JODI PICOULT’S “MY SISTER’S KEEPER” ADDS TO SUMMER ENTERTAINMENT

Prince Frederick, MD, August 14, 2009—Recorded Books’ unabridged audiobook
production of Jodi Picoult’s best-selling My Sister’s Keeper joins this summer’s
entertainment lineup. Recorded Books, LLC, is the world’s largest independent publisher
of unabridged audiobooks. This prize-winning audiobook edition of My Sister’s Keeper is available in CD, audiocassette, and Playaway digital formats.

A runaway best-seller when it was published in 2004, Picoult’s book is now the subject
of one of this summer’s most compelling and controversial movies. My Sister’s Keeper was directed by Nick Cassavetes and features Cameron Diaz, Sofia Vassilieva, Jason Patrick, Abigail Breslin, Alec Baldwin, and Joan Cusack.

Picoult’s story focuses on several perplexing issues, including how a family copes when a
child is diagnosed with a serious disease, the use of genetic planning to create babies for
health purposes, and the ethical, moral and real-life implications of these situations.

Recorded Books’ unabridged audiobook publication of My Sister’s Keeper won both the prestigious Audie AwardTM and YALSA Alex Award.

Picout, born and raised on Long Island, wrote her first story at age five. She studied
writing at Princeton University and earned a master's degree in education from Harvard
University. She held a variety of jobs, including editing textbooks, teaching eighth-grade
English, and writing DC Comics’ Wonder Woman (vol. 3) series. Her novels, Nineteen
Minutes,
about the aftermath of a school shooting in a small town, and Change of Heart both debuted at #1 on the New York Times Best Sellers list.
